PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Dr. Gina McKnight-Smith has gained her professional career experience in a variety of workplace settings for pharmacists. Since 2016, she has worked for the fourth largest biopharmaceutical company in the world in roles of expanding leadership and expertise. She has leveraged her experience in managed care pharmacy and roles in clinical relationship management to drive business success and optimize outcomes for patients who use medications.

Since 1997, Dr. McKnight-Smith has held positions as a Pharmacy Manager after an initial assignment as Staff Pharmacist for Rite Aid Corporation;

Long-Term Care Consultant Pharmacist for Neighborcare (now Omnicare); Pharmacy Manager for Ensign Pharmacy at Good Samaritan;

AdvancePCS (now CVS Caremark) -- initially as a Clinical Pharmacist before quickly advancing into her role as Clinical Manager;

Maryland Clinical Account Director for Provider Synergies (now Magellan Medicaid Administration);

Regulatory Reviewer; for the Food and Drug Administration;

and
Drug Intelligence Pharmacist
for Catamaran (now Optum Health).

Concurrent with these career pursuits since 2001, Dr. McKnight-Smith has served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at UMAB School of Pharmacy fulfilling both instruction and administrative capacities for second and fourth (2nd and 4th) year Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) students.
